I believe that schools should be exempt from certain copyright laws. Although I understand why this isn't the case (faculty or students stealing and using software/other materials outside of the classroom), I still believe that it would make educators' lives much easier by allowing them to be exempt from these laws. As a teacher though, I'd try to find ways to provide my own instructional materials to my students. I believe that doing so could make the material more accessible/applicable to the students than the copyrighted materials could.

I'd confront the issue of student privacy by using software/websites that allow students to provide answers anonymously while I still know who gave the answer. Additionally, whenever these activities are happening, I'd place folders in between students to make sure privacy is ensured. If students wish, they can take down their folders if they wish to share their answers with their peers. Students should be enabled to have privacy, but also be given agency for who they're comfortable working with.

I feel like this is where my experience as a digital native comes as a barrier. I hardly use generative AI outside of the classroom, but from what I've come to understand of it it can be incredibly helpful in creating concepts. However, it supposedly is only good at that much and does have its limits creating anything but good concepts. With this in mind, I'd say that generative AI has yet to reach a point where it can truly be utilized in the classroom without students going out of their way to find out how to use the AI to cheat assignments (i.e. having the AI do the assignment for the student).

Using Word to create the Newsletter Design definitely helped me to hone my skills in Word. When I was in my freshman year of high school I took a tech class that taught me how to use Word, so the assignment definitely helped to remind me how to use the functions Word provides. I feel that my newsletter would be improved through the use of more informal language. I feel like using more pictures and using more informal language could be helpful skills to further my hypothetical career as a teacher by allowing me to portray myself as warm and open through the use of my language.
